SAMRO, the South African Music Rights Organisation, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gloria Bosman, a highly respected jazz composer and singer, and a valued member of SAMRO’s Non-Executive Board. Ms. Bosman was appointed to this role at SAMRO’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December 2022. Her contributions to the SAMRO Board have been highly appreciated, and her passing is a significant loss to the organization and the local music industry. Gloria Bosman was an iconic figure in South African music, and her music touched the hearts of many. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and loved ones.
